Risperdal Any Users Out There

Hi Theresa,

From what I can gather, Risperdal (Risperidone) is mainly used to treat the symptoms of schizophrenia, but is also prescribed for other types of behavior problems such as mania and aggression.

As far as how long it takes to work, the manufacturer reports that it may take up to 2-3 months before you're able to feel the full benefits of taking Risperidone. So while that sounds to me like it would probably be a good time frame to assess how it's been affecting you, your doctor can also determine the duration of treatment you need based on the severity of your symptoms and condition.
