Rispadol

Well, I'm 17 and I'm an adolescent!! So I won't to make sure this medicine isn't for adults only. And I've been overemotional and sensitive all my life. Depression is very common in my family. I've never taken an anti-depressant before. My depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the part of my brain that controls my emotions and how I feel, which is made worse because I was born premature. I also have trouble sleeping and getting motivated every day. So I want to know if the medicine called Rispadol is right for me and won't have any lasting side effects on my behavior or make me feel more depressed. Your help would be much appreciated!!

Did you mean Risperdal?

It is a potent antipsychotic that is used to treat various mental health issues, as well as insomnia. There is no way to say how it will affect you, but the FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness, severe sedation, and weight changes.

What dosage have you been prescribed?
