I have tried every where to find out how many milligrams are released and how often in a controlled release 60 mg MS Contin pill... If I take a 60 mg controlled release MS Contin, is 5mg released every hour or is 15mg released every 2 hours? That was just an example so I am understood. Thank you.

Are you taking the name brand, or a generic? The answer can vary depending on who has manufactured the tablets in question.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Generally, there is a steady release rate, but it can also depend on how much fluids you are taking in, your stomach acid, and etc.
