Based on my research, Regesterone contains the active ingredient Norethisterone.

If you wish to delay your menstrual cycle, then it is very important to start the medication before your cycle starts, as it will not stop it, once you are already menstruating, though it may shorten the duration. The duration of time your period will be delayed is dependent on your own unique body chemistry, it may delay it for a couple days or even as long as a week.

Just take into consideration that it is a hormone, so if you haven't been taking it regularly and your body isn't used to it, it may cause you to start your cycle- rather than delaying it. It really depends on how your body reacts to the medication.
