It is the generic sudefed, but also is used to make Crystal Meth. This is why we have to show id to purchase it from behind the pharmacy counter and can't just buy it over the counter easily. The OTC version is Sudafed PE (or generic with PE)

talk to your son. growing up, I had every type of pain reliever on me. NO! I did not do drugs nor make them out of them, I had them because my cramps if they took place during the day HURT to where I could not move and was rushed to the ER. (Each time was the same, sorry you have to just deal with it) I also suffered from severe allergies. If they had just cut the school's grass the night before, it looked like I was having an allergic reaction to something. But also back then it was normal for the girls to carry midol and tyenol. Just about everyone had some type of allergy medicine or pain reliever. They were not sold, they were not abused. But in today's day and age I can see why so many people are worried. The best thing to do is talk to your kid. You can tell by his tone and standings what the medicine is really used for.
