a long caplet white one side, red the other. When taken apart it is a firm white tablet, with no writing. Found in mothers cupboard and am worried. Please help.

If there are no markings, then there is no way to positively identify it, I am sorry. Prescription drugs must all have imprints to enable their identification, so a good guess would be that it is something available over the counter.
