many people do take medications and say they dont work .
its because you have not visited a doctor and know the exact problem to know the exact med to take .
tell us any medication you have taken and it doesn't work and we can suggest a doc to visit ok

Hi Molly,

While I agree that it's usually a doctors job to diagnose and treat specific ailments, I think it goes without saying that many of us know our bodies better than any doctor ever will, having spent our entire life in this "shell". This may very well be a reason why so many people are misdiagnosed and given incorrect meds as a result.

With that said, I think it would be wise (depending on the circumstances of course) to educate yourself before subjecting yourself to someone who can only spend a few minutes of their precious time evaluating a deep underlying condition.

And I guess all I'm really saying is to do your own research on the symptoms you're feeling, and make an effort to understand the root causes that may have lead up to the onset of whatever it is that you have. With that knowledge you can approach the doctor describing your condition in a much more educated way. This will surely make their job less of a shot in the dark and more definitive overall upon diagnosis.
