Ramipril Cause Clogging At Back Of Throat

I have been on ramipril for a few months now to go with my amlodipine 5mg for high blood pressure. I am mainly at night getting clogged up in the back of the throat, which makes me want to be sick along with a cough? Is it the ramipil?

No, Ramipril hasn't been known to cause congestion, just the cough.

If you're getting the cough from it, you should consult your physician, because that usually doesn't go away and will require a switch to a different medication.

Thanks for your answer I will check with my doctor about the cough, its worse at night, also I will let him know about the clogged up throat. I came off of them this week for 3 days and I felt better but my blood pressure went sky high. regards linda

I have been taking Ramapril for one month now. I have developed the dry cough. At first I thought it was postnasal drip from my sinusitis. I have been chewing 1/2 stick of
Spearmint gum throughout the day and also overnight. This has been very helpful for me.

i take 10mg ramipril, for the last few weeks i have an annoying cough. my throat gets a salty taste then severe coughing then white phlegm. happens when i eat certain foods. happens a few times a day.
i have used rhinocort spray in case its sinusitis but got no relief from it.
does this happen to any one else.

I have been off of Ramipril for about three weeks (on a different tablet). My cough went away for about a week, but it is back now. How long does it take to go away altogether?
