Questions About Chantix

I used chantix a few yrs ago and quit smoking for almost 4 yrs. I only.took it for a month and it worked great. I quit on my chosen date and every time I thought of smoking I would get nauseous. My only side effects were slight nausea and weight gain.
Over the last month I tried taking chantix again, but it has had no effect. Any ideas?

Hello, Annett! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having.

However, just because a medication worked for you once, doesn't mean that it will work, again. Our bodies do change with time.

Have you considered trying Bupropion? It is another antidepressant that is also approved as a smoking cessation aid. Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA may include nausea, dizziness, nervousness, headache and insomnia.
