Question...about Taking Meds

I am disabled with several ruptured disks and degenerative bone disease, not to mention arthritis! I am taking oxycodone, generic I think, called roxycodone. I need it for the pain but it makes me dizzy and nauseous so bad that I just dread taking it sometimes. Can anyone tell me if there's any foods that you can eat when you take it that will help?

Have you been taking it with a meal or on any empty stomach? Sometimes, this can make a huge difference, as food can help keep it from irritating the stomach.

Some items that may help could be bread, crackers, yogurt, milk or starchy foods, like rice.

For the dizziness, try laying down for am hour or so, after you first take it and always make sure that when you sit up or stand up, to do it slowly.

The nausea can also occur if you have a stomach acid problem, do you get heartburn or acid reflux?

If so, then treating that with a medication like Prilosec or Pepcid could also help.

I had the same experience, when I was on pain management and was taking Morphine and Oxycodone. I later discovered that I had Gastritis and treating it would probably have prevent the nausea and vomiting that I always experienced.
