Qualitest Hydrocodone Apap 5 325

Is this product Gluten Free? Does the filler formula change depending on when it is manufactured? Is there a risk for cross contamination during the manufacturing of this product or at any other time before the patient fills a prescription?

Based on my research, each Hydrocodone 5mg + Acetaminophen 325mg tablet (from Qualitest Pharmaceuticals) contains the following inactive ingredients: croscarmellose sodium, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, pregelatinized starch, sodium lauryl sulfate, stearic acid and sugar spheres which are composed of starch derived from corn, FD&C Red #40, FD&C Yellow #6, and sucrose.

Although gluten itself isn't always put on the list, I've been told that it can often be disguised as certain types of starches.

If it hasn't been bothering you after a few doses, then odds are you should be fine. But as a cautious person I would still recommend double checking with the pharmacy just to play it safe.

I have been allergic to gluten for 15 years now, and I have been taking it for the past 3 years, so I am assuming it is safe or I would have known it, by my throat and tongue swelling up. I don't know about a risk of cross contamination...but so far I have not had any problems.
