Qualitest Hydrocodone 10 325 Counterfit?
(Newest replies first)

I have had many Qualitest Hydrocodone 10/325, printed different. Right way is v, turn over3601, which is correct. Others , the V is upside down. Totally different printed pills. This should not be happening. I am concerned they are counterfeit pills. Happened to me twice now. NEVER use to have this problem.

Hi, I too have a question. I have been taking hydrocodone 20/325 for about six months. I most generally get them from my local CVS, and they are the yellow qualitest brand, and they always helped pain well. This month due to insurance issue, I had to go to Meijer pharmacy. I called beforehand to see if they carried the same yellow qualitest brand and dosage. So I went there, got my script, came home and right away noticed a few differences. Yes, they were the yellow ones, but I noticed just a slight difference in the yellow color itself, then I proceeded to look at three or four of the pills, like I do with any medication I'm on, and I noticed also, that half or so we're 3601 yes, v on the back yes, but...The v on them were indeed, upside down. I've seen many posts about if you turn them over north to south and so forth, that they will read correctly, but upon this discovery, no, that wasn't the case with over half the bottle. The v was simply 100% upside down, when it shouldn't be. I also looked on the bottle two times to see that they were indeed qualitest, as CVS always said that on side of bottle. Upon discovery again, the bottle did not indicate they were qualitest, like CVS bottles always did, or as Meijer pharmacy said they were qualitest, the only thing I could even see as a clue, was after it says hydrocodone, it had a space, then says par. So like any other medications I take, I googled it, and it came up saying par brand, not 100% qualitest. So, I began reading posts, and here I am. I'd like professional opinions, thoughts, or comments, as well as comments from any person in general who would like to comment or give input. Really confused, also , because as I said earlier, CVS yellow qualitest I've taken for months the yellow color was a slight different than these, but all the imprints were correct including the v was correct on every pill, unlike these, and also verified qualitest from CVS, always helped my pain tremendously within a half hour ,just estimated guess on that,:), but these, don't do more than make me very relaxed/tired, like as in one of my Klonopins I'm prescribed does, not but maybe only a slight bit of pain relief. Meijer said qualitest, yes they are yellow, bottle didn't indicate qualitest as they said, but had par on bottle, and unlike with CVS, three quarters of bottle mixed with v imprinted wrong, and they barely mask any pain, as to where true qualitest from CVS past six months did wonderful. One more thing, these cause a little stomach upset including nausea....
FOLKS FOLKS FOLKS,
What's preferable, opting for alternative pain control or risking your health and life buying unverifiable pharmaceutical agents? I get it, I too suffer from a chronic intractable pain condition but there's a reason the civilized world has tightly controlled these opiate containing medications. Third world countries are profiting on our desperation for illicitly obtained narcotic pain meds. No one should be forced to suffer but taking restricted unverifiable third world pain meds isn't the answer either.
FDA said 90% of our drugs are made overseas what does that tell you
The only way you are taking counterfeit meds is if your obtaining them illegally. I've been aware that unfortunately when some of the script doctors got busted that the pill presses for compound pharmacies we're sold. It doesn't seem to matter because if you are getting your scripts illegally, you are taking a horrible risk of what's put into them. For most you should be aware of the taste and texture of the medication you have been on. If you suddenly take a med that normally dissolves, and suddenly the new one is like a smooth hard rock. Well you might think twice. You may have lost some money but be thankful that you're alive. If you feel your insurance company has made a bad decisions, I have called and disputed the new change and they have always allowed me to get what I was getting before. Best of luck to you all.
The ones you describe are what I got 3 months ago from Walmart. Nothing fake about them . when you flip it it's upside down . Do you have ones where it's not upside down . ? I know Qualitest changed something , One person said there were yellow outside and white inside ., Mine are all yellow and work great , Much better then the weird feeling white Watson that make me feel like i'm on speed .
14THE80's- I received these pills from a well known pharmacy, in town. They are not only kept on the streets anymore. Never get my prescriptions there. These pills come from sealed containers from the pharmacy. Have seen them. These pills are all over now. DEA cannot contain them all. Not enough help.
Have had some prescription pills that were different, from a brand name manufacturer. CVS knew about this, not before hand, but afterwards. and gave me those same pills over again. Manufacturer wanted to make it right, but CVS would not take them back. Plus, they will not carry them anymore at their store. Was very disappointed in them. Harder to trust any pills you get anymore. Look at them closely. Never use to have these problems. I am a retired nurse, would never have given those pills to a patient of mine.
Post #1 says it's not counterfeit, and Post #2 says it is. I say - the only honest way to know for sure that what you are taking is real is to fill a valid prescription from your doctor at a licensed pharmacy. Corporations like Walgreens or CVS don't always dispense the best working brands, but you can be sure they always dispense real ones. So the question going back to the original poster should be where DID they fill their prescription at, IF they even used a prescription at all? If the latter, I would bet that it's probably not real. On the other hand, drug manufacturers have been known to make subtle changes to their pill's appearance without giving any prior notice to patients.
Anyone else have thoughts on this?
They are fakes. It's been happening a lot. The V facing you- flipped toward you should produce the numbers on top. The fakes have upside down numbers when flipped. It's happening a lot. The pharmacy obviously isn't carrying these. It's on the streets tho.
It's not counterfeit, it just has to do with the pharmacy ordering from a different soarse. Like meds from the V.A. are marked different. Right no with DEA and FDA cracking down is making it hard for pharmacies to get any type of pain medication. Sad part is that this is creating people who are in need are going to the streets for meds, this in turn is more drug dealers out there so now DEA can keep there jobs. I think it's a bunch of b.s cause I take 15mg. of morphine and pharmacies can't get it now. So they switched me to Norco and I'm still waiting and have no idea when I will get it. In meantime I set some morphine aside and I'm in alot of pain. Watch the movie Traffic it is a true story of how it all works with DEA making money off the dealers.
