Purpose Of Gestin Tablet

I am taking Gestin (Allylestrenol) during pregnancy, so i want to know what the purpose of Gestin tablets are? Please tell me in a very simple language. Thanks

Rozy, this is a Progesterone class hormone that is always present in the female body.

The reason it is often given during pregnancy is because you have to have enough of it, in order to support a healthy pregnancy and carry your baby to full term. If a woman is lacking in it, it can affect her pregnancy and may cause her to miscarry.

Hello doctor
I'm 28 years old in my 13th week of 1st pregnancy. My doc has advised me to take gestin 5 mg tablets thrice a day. I was taking hcg5000 injections before twice a week. I just wanted to know the reason for high dose of gestin and any side effects I should expect. And just borderline thyroid. Rest I'm healthy.

Hi,
I am Having PCOS from a long period and after having many medicines also its not getting corrected.
And i was having miss abort last 8 months back when i was 2 and half months pregnent.but now i am planning for my first baby and my doc prescribed me clomifene 50 mg-1 tab each for 5 days.
now started Gestin 5 mg for 10 days.
what is this gestin tablets for?

this is aishwarya raja.last month i was in follicular study doc put humog injection for egg growth.but i took only one day and i didnt put injections(totally 3 inj).and i left that treatment bcos i didnt put 2inj...but now i missed my periods.lmp may 30th today is 50th day..i went to hospital on my 44th day it showed negative in preg strip.doc suggested me to put gestin tablet for 10 days..i had a spotting daily but its not a period only a 3 drops..could i be a pregnant?pls reply

I m30 yr old 22 weekes pregnant.i have a low lying placenta.Dr prescribed Gestin and Duvadilon Retard.Is this safe for my baby.

I have been prescribed gestin 10mg dose twice a day but by mistake I have taken dosage of 20 mg at a time I m 32weeks pregnant now would it harm my baby

Hi doctor, am 26 yrs old and am 6weeks pregnant I was given gestin tablet 2 be taken by my doctor bcos dey said my pregnancy is not coming up from d result shown in d scan, Pls can it be helpful?

i was introduced to Gestin by a doctor but i got Evergreen woman. should i take the 2 same time or finish with gestin before evergreen. i married last year but yet to take in. have been treating urinary tract infection with IV and some drugs. uptill now i still have the signs of infection when am pressed. my lower abdomen will be heavy and paining me.Please i need your advise. though i did a test and the doctor said my hormone was 12 instead of 62 which is the minimum. i took 2 packets of Clomid from August 3 for 5 days according to the doctor.
i just started taking the Evergreen woman today and want to join it with the Gestin when i get home. please your candid advise.thank you.

I didn't get periods for 2 months . Dr suggest me to take gestin tablet for 5 days twice a day. After 3 days I got my periods... I think gestin tablet is for adjusting harmonic level in body in order to regularise our periods

Age 36hubby 40, My doc give clomiphene 50mg , allylestronal 3 mnth, reguler period no problem, my husband has no prblem,1st cycle i cant concieve, can i eat 100mg 2nd cycle plz answer....

I want to be pregnant. My doctor advised me to take Gestin 5mg for 21 days and stop for the next 7 days; then continuing it for 3 months. Can I get pregnant within this period of time or do I have to wait till I complete the course of treatment?
