Purbac And Contraceptives

I have been on Purbac for acne, today (Wednesday) marks the 3rd week of treatment. Last week on Thursday was my last day having my period. Today I had intercourse with my fiance and the condom broke. Am I at risk of pregnancy? Does ovulation play a part in this? Can I take contraceptives?

Antibiotics like Purbac can reduce the efficacy of hormonal contraceptives, creating a risk of pregnancy.

Yes, Ovulation always plays a role, but if the antibiotic disrupted your cycle, you may not ovulate when you expect to do so.

The FDA lists the other side effects of Purbac as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.
