Purbac 240 Mg Pedeatric
UpdatedMy son was perscribe Purbac, 12.5 suppositories and smecta. He is only 8months old and I am feeling unsure about giving him the purbac and suppositories because purbac is for kids between 6 and 12 and the suppositiries said from 2years. He has a slight cough, fever of 39.2 celcius and diarrhea as well as being tired all the time and irritable. He has heavy breathing and a raised heart rate

Hello, Karen! How are you?
What was the diagnosis? Why were they prescribed?
It sounds like the doctor thinks he may have some type of infection and, if that is the case, the risk of leaving it untreated it far greater than the risk posed by giving him the medications.
The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
How high is his heart rate?
