Purata For Insomnia Not Working Second Time Around

I was diagnosed with BP2 and on Lithium, antidepressants etc and prescribed Purata for about a year to sleep at night (my brain just won't ever switch off) the Purata 30mg worked excellent but then I had colon problems and the spes said it could have been caused by all the meds I'm on, so I was weaned off everything. Then they discovered my colon was more than twice the normal lenght and it was shortened. I'm doing quite fine off all the meds except that I could not sleep. So last week doc prescribed 30mg Purata again, but now its not working at all! Is it because its the second time around? Should I take it just before going to bed or how long before it kicks in? I really suffer to fall asleep, but once I'm sleeping I have no trouble to stay asleep. P.s. I go to gov clinic for meds and Pshyc have only showed up once in over a year and doc is very rude and unhelpful.

Hello, Toorsie! How are you?

Purata is listed as containing the active ingredient Oxazepam, it is a benzodiazepine class medication. The U.S. FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

It usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes for it to start working, so you may want to take it within that time frame of going to bed, to see if it helps.

However, our bodies due change with time, so it could be that it just no longer works for you.

Can you post back and update me on how you're doing?
