The term "brick" is street for any drug that weighs in at a kilogram or a pound. This term is almost exclusively used in association with illegal drugs.

The medication you are referring to is Promethazine hydrochloride and codeine phosphate syrup which is used to temporary relief of coughs and upper respiratory symptoms associated with allergy or the common cold. There are many reports of people abusing this medication in addition with sprite to make what's called codeine lean.
