i started using nurstrate in 2014 and stopped in 2016 dec. I started again now in December 2017 and for a week after i took the shot I got brown spots for 5days then emmidiately after that I got my periods and tomorrow will be second week (8th day) of periods and its quite heavy. I have been intimate with my patner while on periods;could it be the reason for my prolonged periods?

No, intimacy won't cause such an issue. It is most likely just a normal side effect of Nu-Isterate. The NIH reports that it can cause irregular bleeding for a few months, after restarting it, along with nausea, headache, mood changes, and weight changes.
For anyone else curious, other than the possibility of being messy, there is no harm or side effects associated with being intimate while menstruating.
