Progesterone Soft Gelatin Capsules / Naturogest 300mg

Hello. I am pregnant and my doctor suggested I get blood work done. I had my period on the 16th day and had an IUI test; after which the doctor recommended the medicine progesterone soft gelatin capsules & naturogest 300mg to start taking on the 20th day, three times daily for 15 days. Can anyone tell me what the medicine is used for?
