Prochlorper 10mg Tab Side Effects

Why is abstaining from alcohol recommended with this medicine (prochlorper)? What would the side effects be?

It is best to avoid alcohol when taking any prescription medication, combining them can cause more severe side effects than usual, such as dizziness, drowsiness, and sedation, according to NIH reports. Additionally, if you are taking this medication to prevent nausea and vomiting, alcohol can cause those symptoms, as well as stomach irritation.
