its a syrup prescribed for cough and I want to make sure it dosnt have codeine in it.

Pro-Clear contains Hydrocodone + Potassium Guaiacolsulfonate.

PLEASE HELP!!! ANY ADVICE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. I found a prescription bottle of Clear Liquid Syrup, Directions read. . . take one tsp every 6 hours as netereded for cough. The first half of the name of contents is gone. Second part reads: D/GG 5-100/5 SYP ETHEX. Warnings are as followed: May cause drowsiness, alcohol can intensify this effect, May cause dizziness.take with a full glass of water & lastly, CAUTION!!! Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication.l

The original formulation of Proclear is listed as containing Codeine, though the formulation may have changed over its production years, and I have not been able to find any more recent information on it.

Does anyone else know more?

The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

Stacy, my best guess on that is that it contains 100mgs of Acetaminophen, and 5mgs of Hydrocodone, but I cannot promise you that is correct. The only way to be sure would be to have it lab tested. In such cases, it is usually best to just dispose of it, when you cannot positively identify it.
