Private Methadone Doctors In Ontario Oregon

I am a 45 yr old female who has chronic pain. 18 yrs ago I was an addict ans was on methadone treatment for 7 yrs in seattle. I moved to Idaho and detoxed off my program for 3+yrs. I had back surgery and was prescribed meds that unfortunatly gave me some physical addiction. I asked my family doc for methadone for pain and explained my past. He prescribed to me for 2 yrs and refered me to a pain clinic due to pain issues and the pain doc discontinued my methadone and used dillaudid. I have recently moved to ontario oregon and cant make the 65 mile drive regularly and most all the docs I have seen refuse to prescribe pain meds sometimes period. I am up front and talk about my past openly but dont feel I should suffer with so much pain. I have less quality of life and I feel my kids and family suffer seeing me struggle so often. Is there any doctor in the vale, nyssa, ontario area who will please help me?

It really isn't that the doctors don't want to help you, it's that they can't. The way the laws stand now, since you were in a Methadone treatment clinic before and that is noted in your medical records, no regular doctor can prescribe it for you. A clinic is your only option if you wish to continue Methadone.

There are other options that the doctors could prescribe, but given your prior addiction issues, most are going to be reluctant to risk prescribing them.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I wish I had better news for you, but I'm afraid I don't. Many people have found themselves in similar dilemmas.
