Pristiq Makes Me Sick

Doctor switched me from effexor 75mg to pristiq 50mg because the effexor was giving me terrible nausea. I have been on the pristiq for 2 days and it is giving me diarrhea and making me so sick to my stomach! Help! Anybody else have this experience? Would it be ok to just stop taking the pristiq since i have just been taking it for 2 days? Please help; I feel so sick and so alone!!!

Have you spoken to your doctor, yet?

There are actually several possibilities here that could be causing the problem.

They could be caused from stopping the Effexor, thus they may be mild withdrawal effects.

They could be cause from starting the Pristiq, or it could be a combination of both factors.

Since these medications do work on brain chemicals, it isn't advisable to just stop abruptly, because it can cause some withdrawal effects, which means you should really consult with your doctor, before making such a decision.
