Primolut N 5mg 3xdaily

I'am 51 yrs old and I am having heavy periods for more than a wk during my period. my OB doctor told me to take Primolut N, 5mg 3xdaily from day 2-25 of my cycle (21 days/month) but sometimes my day 2 is still very heavy, Can I start taking Primolut N even if I'm still bleeding heavily to complete the 21 days of medication as prescribed by my OB Gyn doctor? Hello, Dhay! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having.

When you are aging and going through hormonal changes, it can be normal for the second day of your period to be heavy and there isn't much you can do to change it.

The other option you could ask your doctor about that may help would be just taking an oral contraceptive for awhile, to try to balance your hormones back out.

Are you on any other medications?

I am 46 and peri menopausal. I have had very irregular periods for a couple of years. I can go a few months without a period then can bleed heavily for up to 2months. My gynacoligist has put me on primolut nor 10mg to take for 10 days at a time, starting on the 15 th day of each period. I am having pain all the time now, even when I am not bleeding, and now my period has started again I am in so much pain that no painkillers help and the bleeding is heavier than ever. Should I be on this medication? Please help.
