Price Of Contrave With Fepblue (Top voted first)
UpdatedThe pamphlet the dr gave said the cost would be about $70 per month without insurance and $45 with insurance. I work for the govt and have bcbs and CVS wanted me to pay $212 because they said I have federal insurance and couldn't use the pharmacy. What is everyone else paying and why can't I use this savings card?
Why am I being penalized? When will it be available through Caremark mail ordering? What other pharmacy can I use if I can use this savings card?

My health insurance will not cover it so my price with the discount card was $70. Just tell pharmacy not to run it through your insurance and that you want to pay cash price with the discount card. Good luck!!
I just started my prescription and I was told by the Dr. to let the pharmacy know that you want to cash pay with the Contrave discount card. My Husband also works for the Goverment and we are also on his insurance. Good luck hope this helps!!
I work for the federal government and they told me this too. It's wrong...they are talking about entitlement programs funded by the government, not private insurance though you happen to work for the govt. -- I have the same insurance you do.... call the number on the back of the card and follow the path that asks "have you paid more than $55 for your prescription?" That should route you to a specialist. They will tell you to have the pharmacist call the number when you pick up the script- they should give the pharmacist step by step instructions. If tit still doesn't work the specialist will give you a url to go to get a refund. It takes 4-6 weeks to get each refund, so it's worth going the 'get the pharmacy to call the assistance number route'. I hope they straighten this out soon. I feel your pain, but just keep pushing. Contrave really doesn't want you paying more than $70/month.
I am also a govt worker with bcbs and I got mine filled at Kroger and did not pay anything at all.
Hello, Wanda! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you've had.
Usually, that only applies to those who receive subsidized insurance from the government, such as Medicare and that is exactly what I'm reading on the Contrave site.
This does not usually apply to insurance you have, because you work for the government. The pharmacy may have misunderstood and you might want to double check with them about it.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of Contrive as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness and insomnia.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Thank you can you also tell me what would be the necessary steps for the pharmacy in order to use the discount card in order for it to work with government insurance such as Blue Cross Blue Shield or can a pharmacy be recommended that knows how to process this discount
It is true that if you have any government funded insurance company, you are prohibited to use any loyalty cards. These companies include Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare. It stinks but those are strictly prohibited. You will find that at any pharmacy.
