Prescription Refill Pharmacy Billing Early
UpdatedMy pharmacy is billing my insurance 2 days early sometimes 1 day. He is closed on Sundays. And I did not notice this at first but went back a full year since now he is giving me problems on filling my medication. He said he goes by the manufacturer date that tells him when to release it. Then I asked what date are you going by, and he stated 'date filled'. But if your filling it and billing my insurance two days early it looks like I am picking up my medication early but I can not pick it up until the 30th day. And if he's closed on Sundays I have to wait till day 31 sometimes day 32. I never abused my medication. I have a letter from the DR that I never asked for Medication early and I am supervised carefully. He is counting wrong from the date he fills it and when I pick it up. How do I fix this issue? I live in Florida and know they made it harder to weed out the bad one's. But what can I do. I tried other pharmacies but they won't fill it due to him filling and billing the insurance early seeming like I am picking it up when i get it exactly on day 30-32? Due to his billing?

Hello Dee! How are you?
Can you get records from the pharmacy that show when you picked up your medications?
Usually, a prescription, or refill, is submitted to your insurance for approval, which prevents being able to get one too early, because they have strict timelines for when they will cover each one; then when the order is filled, the actual billing is submitted to your insurance; and then you pick it up, once it's ready. This could be 3 different days, depending, and there should be record of all of them.
Are you receiving controlled substances?
