Preopik And Atelenol And Lorazapam

would like to know if others have taken their atelenol while during the prepopik prep for a colonoscopy. says online not to take this med in the morning of the procedure and I have to have it.

There are other ways to procedures to check for colon cancer. I am unable to drink the jug of liquid given. Check with your gastroenterologist.

If the instructions say not take it that morning, it would be best to follow them. You can always take your dose later, after the procedure. A few hour delay shouldn't really hurt anything. But it is always best to double check with your doctor to be sure.

I've had various medical events that required my delaying my blood pressure and heart medications, for a few hours and my cardiologist never worried about it. Just don't delay taking it any longer than necessary, you could even take it with you, so you can take one, immediately after the procedure.

The FDA warns that taking this to clean out your intestines could result in diarrhea, bloating, and abdominal cramping.

This is way past being helpful for the original poster, but might be useful for others. Most doctors I have worked with want you to take your beta-blocker (atenolol, metoprolol, etc.) before a surgery or procedure because it could result in a dangerous arrhythmia if you don't. Of course, check with your doctor, but be sure that you are not following package instructions that may not apply the same to all situations.
