Prednisone 20mg Allergies!

Hey, I just got prescribed prednisone 20 mg for a horrible allergy reaction to pet dander and (normal summer reactions). I was wondering if it was suitable to take my first dose tonight? 8pm! I have to be up early tmrw and need to sleep, but also in a lot of discomfort. Any advice would be much appreciated. I also have antihistamines prescribed as well. Could i just double up on them, then take the pred in the morning? Cheers

It usually takes a few doses for most people to start experiencing side effects. I know the FDA reports that this can cause insomnia, nervousness, irritability and acne, but there's not much chance of it occurring after just one dose, so you should still be able to sleep.

What antihistamine was prescribed? I'm sorry, but I need more information in order to be able to answer that question.
