Poslam Ointment (Page 4)
Updatedold remedy for skin rashes

The best way for both of us would be if you would post the information here. Flower Girl was interested, and a gentleman wrote about plexolan a while back, too. This way you would be getting the information out not just to me but to others who perhaps haven't been actively looking anymore, but would be interested. I showed my daughters your reply, and they are excited!.
Can you give me details about poslam ointment? I am a compounding pharmacist in NY and am trying to figure out the formula. Can you help?
Genie, I have opened a second location and am now located in Bakersfield, Ca. at Vital Compounding Specialty Pharmacy. We have filed a patent pending on Poslam and are in the works to get it back to the market. I hope this helps. Thanks, Leah
Looking for the formula for Poslam ointment? If you read previous notes you will see I posted this in July of 2007.
Poslam used to be made by Emergency Laboratories, Jersey City, NJ 07302. I tried to find them in on-line phone directories but they don’t seem to exist any more. A pharmacist passed along this formula to my parents. A compounding pharmacy should be able to make it up. I don’t know if it is patented or not, nor can I vouch for the accuracy of the formula.
Base is tar distillate, zinc oxide 13.3%, sulfer 0.5%, salicylic acid 1.65%, menthol 0.6%, phenol 0.35%, lanolin 26%.
I've been watching this discussion, but I'm not sure that Poslam and Plexolan are the same ointment. The main ingredients - zinc oxide and lanolin - are the same, but I'm not sure there was menthol in Plexolan, the one I'm looking for. Bethany: have you made any progress towards manufacturing Plexolan again? It's been a year since we "talked". Sure would like to hear about your progress.
Bethany - I am hoping you will start producing Plexolan again. I started using it 40 years ago and I am now 80 years old and down to my last squeezes on my last tube! I tried to dublicate the ingredients (zinc oxide and lanolin) and it is close but not quite the same. Hope you have some good news for me!
Hi Sally!
Great to hear from you..I don't think that I got your email though. Would love to hear back any questions that you may have!:)
Hello Susieboots!
I am still in the process of getting Plexolan formulated and back into production. Exciting things! Hoping to have everything completed in the very near future. I will keep you posted. Thanks for checking back in!!
My children (50 and 47) and I (72) dream of getting our hands on some Plexolan! We used all of ours up years ago. Please let us know when you get it back in production! And Thank You!
Bethany, any update on Plexolan? My extended family would buy it in a heartbeat!
Have you been able to replicate Poslam?
Hello any update my father and I both would love to get our hands in some asap
I found a piece of newspaper "Boston Post" on the floor of my New Hampshire barn from 1914. It said POSLAM "clear the skin over night"... so it must have been around since at least then... Interesting.
I grew up using it and they even has a soap. I used it all threw school in the 60's and never had a blemish. I had the most beautiful skin. When I couldn't get it my skin was not the same
Looking for Poslam... I hear it has absolutely wonderful healing powers. We need this product on the market. Has this happened yet? If so, how do we get it?
Any updates on the production of Poslam or the other?
I don't know where to buy any new, but I have a jar of this old school remedy. Poslam Ointment, ingredients:
Tar Distillate
Sulfur
Salicylic Acid
Phenol
Zinc Oxide
Menthol
Lanolin
I just found this site today. Has anyone come up with a source for poslam? It’s the only thing I’ve seen or heard of that really helps eczema, and I’m getting beyond desperate!
Re: DJM (# 7)
I remember this as a teen. Where can it be found?
Re: RayJay (# 78)
If you find out let me know, I’m looking to buy it... Poslam.
