Polycythemia Rubra Vers

I have been on warfarin for 5 yrs now due to blood clots caused by polycythemia. I take 8 MG a day and I feel terrible most of the time .I have complained to my Dr many many times of the constant nausea and over the last year diarrhea and blurry vision and lots of gas! ..I'm finding no relief from these symptoms and am getting quite discouraged at how small my once active life has become. is there something I'm doing wrong or something I can do to get my life back?

Hello, Ingrid! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems you're having.

Have you considered asking your doctor about trying a different blood thinner?

There are several others available, the FDA lists their usual side effects as including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising.

It's really a matter of finding one that works for you, without making you miserable.
