Pink Orange Adderall
UpdatedI've been prescribed 3 20mg Adderalls a day for 18 years and I've always gotten the orange ovals and they've worked great for me, but due to losing my insurance I hadn't had them for awial but I just started getting them again today and when I filled my script I got home to find out that they gave me the round bright pink ones which I've never seen in my life and everyone else I know that is prescribed them told me they have never seen them either, but I looked them up and confirmed they are Adderall so I took 1 at a time to be safe and by the time i had gotten to my 3rd prescribed pill for the day I didn't feel any different except for having a pounding headache that started 30 minutes after taking the first one and I just had dry mouth, but before I call my doctor about them I'm going to continue to take them for at least a week to see if it continues to happen and to show the doctor I tried so I can be sure it's the new pink ones causing the headache and that they aren't effecting me at all other then negatively. What I would like to know is why these two pills are so different in effectiveness and appearance but are considered by doctors to both work the same. I don't like pink ones at all and really wish that when I spoke to my doctor about my dose and the look of the pill that I would have been informed that most pharmacys only have the pink ones now or that they even exist, because I would have definitely asked where I can fill my prescription and get the orange ones I've always taken and know work the way they are supposed to for me. Im not a person who likes taking new medications as it is for this reason exactly. Does anybody know what pharmacys still carry the original orange ovals? Walmart didn't have any at all and rite aid is who gave me the pink ones. This is extreamly frustrating because I'm a mother of 3 my youngest being 9 months and I work 40+ hrs a week so I need to be able to focus and accomplish things required in my everyday schedule so I don't really have time or patience for any inconvenience that's causing me pain and takes any time away from my children or my job. Sorry for the long rant everyone but I see a few of you agree with me on this so I needed to vent and see if I could get some help as to where to go to get the medication that works the right way and if anyone had some ideas on how I can go about correcting this issue properly.

Despite having the same active ingredients, I think it's really the inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) which help make up each tablet's composition, that are likely to blame for these inconsistencies across various manufacturer's brands and generic versions... They all contain the same key active components but perhaps the fillers aren't metabolizing properly (because they probably use substances in these pills that aren't recognized by our bodies), thereby inhibiting bioavailability or the rate of absorption to such a degree that it's breaking down in ineffective quantities that don't necessarily meet the active ingredient's threshold dosage for effectivity... This is just my theory, but it makes sense to me...
What doesn't make sense to me though, is how doctors and pharmacies are getting away with prescribing these inferior medications... Perhaps not enough patients are complaining? Or if they are, maybe they're being ignored for the sake of profits...
I do want to add that if you know of a specific manufacturer's tablet that works best for you, see if your doctor is willing to specify the manufacturer's name on the prescription itself, so that pharmacists will have to fill it according to the doctor's orders and not just give you whatever they usually get for the cheapest price...
I hope this helps!
