It makes my stomach hurt worse, what's the difference between this pill and Prevacid

Prevacid contains the active ingredient Lansaprazole. The capsule in question is listed by Apotex as containing 40mgs of Omeprazole, which is a generic for Prilosec. Both, however, are the same type of medication.

The FDA does list stomach pain as being a possible side effect of these medications, along with nausea, dizziness and flatulence. So, it could be that the Omeprazole is causing you more side effects than Prevacid did.
