This type of confusion does happen a lot, so I'd like to add some information to this post to help clear it up for anyone else in the future.

The way a pill looks doesn't matter, the color doesn't matter and neither does the manufacturer, the only relevant thing that matters if what it contains, as long as it has the right active ingredient as what your doctor prescribed and the right dosage, then it is still the same medication and will treat the same conditions.

In this case, the doctor ordered Omnicef, which is an antibiotic that contains the active ingredient Cefdinir, so what was received from the pharmacy was Cefdinir, the generic version.

Learn more Omnicef details here.

Once a medication is available as a generic, it's usually manufactured by several different companies and they all have to use different imprints on them to enable them to be identified in case of emergency, so the tablets you get from your pharmacy may not always be the name brand and you may not always get pills that look the same, however, that's fine, as long as the actual ingredient and dosage is correct.
