They use generic. Name brands cost so much and if you are on disability or any government paid insurance they do use generics. Generics are the same. I too have to take morphine for my liver. I was Hep C pos, but took the meds and I am in what they call remission since about 18 years ago. I was a class 2, they call me. They say mine is fine, However I don't take nsaid's or any drug that is bad for the liver. I got Hep C from a stick where I worked.

i wish to retract my earlier post about the generic morphine 30 tab for chronic pain , *product by watson labs. it doesn't work very well , and sometimes not at all .
there are others much better to give relief .

i do believe not all generic *morphine tabs are made the same .

for months now i've been prescribed MORPHINE SUL ER 90MG CAP which are( ALL WHITE W/ NO MARKINGS) ,which i never knew they came in 90mg dosages, but now my pharmacy filled my prescription and the cap. have changed in color, now they are SILVER/& OFF WHITE W/ NO MARKINGS.does anyone have any knowledge of these pills.I am terminal from liver failure & have survived 2 yrs past my experation date only thru knowledge of everything i consume now thank you for any little bit of detail helps
