Penicilina - V Dosage

I cut myself with a clean knife and have some penicilina - v 800,000 U tablets. How much should I take a day to prevent infection?

In regards to this, though it's an old post, I'm going to add another one of my important PSAs for anyone seeking similar information.

The improper use of antibiotics carries the risk of causing antibiotic resistance, which could be very dangerous in the event that you get a real infection that requires treatment.

Thus, it is not advisable to try to self-diagnose, self-treat, or try to dose yourself to prevent an infection.

Most cuts, scrapes and etc. that are minor in nature will heal on their own in a short period of time. There are over the counter topical antibiotic ointments you can use, such as Neosporin and the generic equivalents, if you're concerned.

However, you should not take oral antibiotics, unless your doctor has confirmed the presence of an infection and specifically instructed you to do so, or in the case of a major injury/surgery, where they believe it is the safe course of action to prevent an infection.
