Paying For Methodone

My son has been a methodone for program for 5 months. He is disabled and his only means of income is $1,100 a month on SSD. He has to pay $35 a week to get his methodone. They ask him anywhere from 2 to 3 times a week for a U.A which they charged him $20 per diagnosis. This is from $40 to $60 a week that he does not have. If they do not get their money they refuse to give him his medicine.
I am a senior citizen and cannot afford an extra $40 or $60 a week to give him. They hold him for ransom if he does not have the money. He tells them he will give it to them when he gets his check on the 3rd Wednesday of each month but they say no. If this fair??

Hello, Npet! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that your son is having.

Is it necessarily fair? No!

But is it legal, so they can get away with it? Yep!

Compared to what some other clinics charge, that's actually very cheap. Many people pay far more than that, upwards of $250 each visit.

Doesn't he have any medical coverage to help out? Or does that clinic not accept such?
