Pantop D Side Effects And Alternatives

My mother is of age 68 years and has been taking pantocid(40 mgs) for past 6 years , (twice or thrice in a week). Because she gets burning in throat / chest. Some times the liquid came out from her nose also.
Now she is daily taking Pantop-D (40mg). As she feels above symptoms almost daily / alternate day.
We are worried about side effects. Can there be some better alternative.
She is also having BP and high cholesterol. And takes BP medicines two times and cholesterol medicine one time. She takes almost normal vegetarian food with normal spices (lesser side).

Pantop-D contains Domperidone and Pantoprazole and it is commonly used, long-term to treat such conditions.

The reason they want her to use it everyday is to try to help prevent the acid reflux that she is experiencing and heal any damage it may have already caused to her stomach or esophagus.

Under the U.S. FDA guidelines, as well as most other countries, these proton pump inhibitors the reduce the amount of stomach acid that someone produces are the best choice to use.

I am not sure what other alternatives are available for her, what country are you in?

In most cases, people use other antacids, such as chewable Calcium tablets to help with the symptoms, since it can take daily use of the Pantoprazole for several months, before it actually helps heal the damage.

However, if this medication isn't helping her, she may need to try something else in a different class, such as Famotidine or Ranitidine, if they are available there.

After many years of being misdiagnosed, it was recently discovered that I have an acid problem, myself and suffer from Gastritis, so I am getting pretty experienced with this.

I also have high blood pressure and know for a fact that some of the medications used to treat it can cause or worsen such conditions.

Do you know what medication she is on for her blood pressure, as well as the name of the blood pressure medication?

When it came to the severe acid production, I had problems with all of the following: Enalapril, Lisinopril, Amlodipine and Metoprolol.
