Pain Post Herpetic Neuralgia

My husband has post herpetic neuralgia and has tried all medications (like Lyrica, Gabapentin, Nucleo CMP, laser treatment, acupuncture). For the past 5 years, the pain has been managed but lately his pain is back and more intense. He does not want to depend on these medicines anymore because of its side effects. Is there someone who can recommend an alternative? He is 60 years old.

He might try gallium maltolate skin cream, which many people with postherpetic neuralgia say has helped relieve their pain. For more information see:
