what are the side effects of this medicine?
what about red spots on the hand? Is that serious?

This is used topically, so the most common side effect has to do with applying it to the skin and usually includes some skin irritation.
Are the red spots occurring where you're applying it? Or on the hand you're applying it with?
Unless they are swollen, itchy or bleeding, they most likely aren't anything to worry about, but you should check with your doctor to be certain.
