I am moving to San Diego in a month or so and am prescribed morphine sulfate 2 times daily for spinal stenosis and degenerative disk disease and I'm afraid that I will have a hard time finding a doctor that will continue my treatment.I am also on flexeril, gabapentin and another med for depression.I have contacted a few doctors out there but no one seems to be willing to continue the treatment I now receive.
I am a chronic pain patient with a Legitimate Condition and tired of being treated like a drug abuser because of people that DO abuse meds like this one!
I've also ran the gambit of Pain Management clinics that seem to only want to inject steroids in your spine & also physical therapy and you name it.
The med regiment I'm on now, work perfectly & I'm told by a spine specialist as well as a pain management Dr. that there is nothing else they can do for me.
If someone can help me with a few names I can give you a way to contact me with my email address etc...Thanks for reading...Bill

Bill-try dr. Brown in Vista. 760-631-5000 for pain. He'll look at your records and help. He works with morphine and gabapentin. Pain contract and UA required. Nice man.
Buy the morphine at CVS. Get their free CA rx discount card for lower cost meds.
For psych meds, dr. Ross. North County mental health 1701 mission ave. Oceanside. Great, knows her meds and can also do ONLY gabapentin and psych meds.
This clinic is ONLY if you had substance abuse. Say you drank 20 years ago but have been sober if it's true. And she won't put you on a diversion list since she isn't doing your morphine.
Have you thought of Cymbalta? It's for depression but works on pain. They can boost it with Ability if needed. Non-narcotic and OK with the morphine.
If you're compliant, both of these doctors will do right by you.
Sliding scale and some FREE drugs programs from patient assistance programs that dr. Ross' office and register you for if you're under 200% of poverty income ~3rd a month. Psych meds mailed to your home!
be positive and honest. Speak clearly. They can spot abusers easily. They won't judge or shame you at all...

Hi Bill, I had a great pain mgmt.doc. in the Mission Valley part of San Diego. She is a caring doc, listens, reads all of your x-rays and mri's and more.She provides a better lifestyle for her patients with injections sono-gram neck and back rubs and medications as she seems to think it necessary. I got fired because all of my urines came back neg, but never-the-less, she is a great doc. and i would gladly recommend her
