I've had severe chronic pain for years. Pain dr. Gave me 7.5/325 hydrocodone. I have hep c and chronic anemia. I don't want either tylenol or Ib.. what can I ask for that has none of those and is stronger? Would a fentanyl patch work?

Hello, Andrea! How are you feeling?

Fentanyl is the strongest narcotic available, so it may not be wise to jump straight to it, because that's not going to leave you anywhere to go in the future, once you build up a tolerance.

Learn more Fentanyl details here.

There are several others that are stronger and don't contain NSAIDs.

One would be Oxycodone, which is available in instant release, regular release and time released formulations.

Learn more Oxycodone details here.

There's also Morphine, Dilaudid and Opana.

Learn more Morphine details here.

Learn more Dilaudid details here.

Learn more Opana details here.

So, you've get several options you can discuss with your doctor, rather than immediately jumping to the strongest available.

All are narcotics, however, so they do have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?
