I just moved to St Augustine, Florida and I am looking for a new pain management physician. I have been taking methadone for pain for about a year. After trying several other medications to treat RA and back issues, the methadone actually managed my pain well and I need to find a new pain management doctor who prescribes methadone for pain. I would be willing to travel to Jacksonville or surrounding areas. Any help is appreciated!

No one can tell you what a new doctor will and won't prescribe. You need to call your insurance company and ask for a list of Pain Management Doctors in your area that take your insurance. Some pain management doctors also want you to be seeing a pcp. Chances are good you will need copies of your medical records from your previous doctors.
