I was prescribed with hydrocodone acetaminophen 5 325 for pain in my leg and back. Can I also take hydrocodone-apap 5-500 at the same time?

No, APAP is medical speak for Acetaminophen, so that would double up on the Hydrocodone, and Acetaminophen. Thus, you should not do so, without your doctor's approval.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

The warning that BL posted about Acetaminophen is correct, many people have unintentionally overdosed on it.

It isn't a good idea to take both at the same time without talkiing to your dr first. If you need more medication, maybe your dr can increase it or give you something else. But, if you do take Hydrocodone 5 mg/Acetaminophen 325 mg And Hydrocodone 5 mg/Acetaminophen 500 mg at the same time Do Not take another one Or anything else that contains Acetaminophen before at least 6 hours are up because of the amount of Acetamiinophen. The most Acetaminophen (Tylenol) that it is safe to take at one time is 1,000 mg and that can be taken Only as frequently as once every 6 hours for a few days.
