I am now confused as to whether or not dr. h. is still in business. I may need to find a new thread to go to to find more recent info. My pain dr. refuses to listen to my neurosurgeon. Can anyone help me?
I am looking for a pain clinic in Redford or Livonia Michigan that prescribes pain medications instead of inj's that don't work.
9/4/16 - I have legit back problems and all paperwork, mri's, x-rays,opinion from orthopedic surgeon from henry ford hospital who wants a fusion. I asked if shots would, he said not for my condition. I went for a second opinion to a neurosurgeon and he said no to the fusion and when i asked him if i was under or over medicated he said under. I was being treated at head and spine clinic on monroe st. in dearborn with 120c 10/325 oxycodone. I asked doc to up my meds and he said in his opinion i was just right (ya) the neurosurgeon said he would send me to garden city hospital pain clinic. This neurosurgeon is not scared of the state so i felt i had finally found the right clinic, right off the bat 120 10/325 oxycodone. I finally gave in and had a facet injection. They only want to give meds that have tylenol in it so what i see in the future is trying to find a plan B. hubbles sounds pretty good. The doc that i see at garden city upped it to 150 ct so after doing a couple of experiments 240 ct. would be great. I don't think i will get it. I also need to find out more up to date info in here or some where else. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Any idea how much a office visit costs without having insurance? Also, would one have to see him every month to get the prescription refilled?
It is an urgent care and the there is only one doctor on staff, which is odd in my opinion. But anyways...do not make an appointment the first time you go, but get there early because you will be competing with other pill addicts to get seen. You will be met by a lady who's name is Mrs. Humbles; she is the doctors wife. She will ask you if you condition is cronic. If you tell her no then she will tell you to go to the emergency room and will not let you see the doc. So you have to be able to tell her yes and give her paperwork to support it. Once you get past her, who obviously tries to keep everything just lagit enough to keep the place from being raided, and get to see the doctor. Dr. Humbles will give you any medication you suggest to him helps your condition. Really...I have no idea how they stay in business and don't get arrested. Many other doctors in the area know what he does and a lot of the major chain pharmacies have him black listed and will not fill scripts from him. So you need to go to a mom and pop pharmacist to get it filled. Ohh...and no lol...they do not do drug panels on your first visit.
Does this doctor give drug panels on the first appointment? Is it a walk in, I noticed he is Urgent Care, so you don't need an appointment do you?

I hope you are correct on this Dr H. My doctors office got shut down last week with all my records not in my possession. This has really jammed me up with getting into another clinic without proper papers.
Thank You
Nancy
@post #1,
It seems to me that most Dr's wouldn't have a problem prescribing pain medication to someone with a clear documented need for them. The only things they might question are how you managed to go without seeing a pain doctor for the last 5 years and whether you've been taking anything else since that time period. If it were me I'd probably be upfront and honest about everything so he knows you have nothing to hide. But if the original poster (sumpertpumler) is right about their Dr. being so liberal, I doubt the conversation would even come to that.
Hope you're able to find the kind of relief you're looking for!
Dr. Enos M. Humbles, DO
Just bring your MRI and tell them what works for your pain and they will give it to you.
