Pacofen Safe For Breastfeeding

Hi im having fever.. N took pacofen this morning. Is pacofen safe for breastfeeding and can i continue my breastfeeding regime..?will the medcine be pass to my baby..??

There are some rare cases where some risk can be associated with taking the Codeine, while breastfeeding, but in most cases, it is considered safe.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

However, it would be best to inform your pediatrician that you took it and, in the future, if you're only treating a fever, you may just want to ask your doctor about taking Paracetamol by itself.

What medication (stronger or just different from) other than ibuprofen is safe for breastfeeding mums please? I have Raynauds of the nipple and have taken paracetamol with ibuprofen max dosage 24/7 for the past 3 months with only a slight difference in pain. I have also tried nifedipine 30mg daily for a month with only a slight difference in pain too. Please advise thank you.
