I wouldn't advise his imbibing, without first talking to his doctor about it.
There are several factors that can affect whether or not it would be safe for him to indulge in any alcoholic beverage, such as other medications he may be taking for his heart condition.
In addition, alcohol is known to be cardiotoxic and, if his heart is unstable enough to require a pacemaker, then it may not be safe for him to indulge in any amount.
