Oxytetracycline For Tooth Infection

I have swollen gums around my teeth in the front lower jaw accompanied by pulsing pain. It started after I bit into a candy bar. Can oxytetracycline be used for a tooth infection?

It is an antibiotic that can be used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, so it should be taken according to your PCP's instructions.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.
