Oxycotin Cr 60 Mg Tablet Vs 30mg. Morphine Sul Er

What is equal in mgs? I have been prescribed a 60 mg. of OxyCotin ER. Now the dr. is suggesting I use 30 mgs. of Morphine Sul ER. Can you give me the mgs. that equals the 60 mg.OxyCotin ER . What would the mg. difference be to get the same pain relieving results? It's not the dr.; it's the drug plan I have that is now demanding this be changed.

Hello, Eva! How are you?

Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so you'd actually need 90mgs of the Morphine to equal the same analgesic effect of 60mgs of Oxycontin.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

is there a place I can get a one month supply prescription filled privately? I would use my own funds and not report it to the local pharmacy or the internet pharmacy place.

It's my understanding that people can legally get a script filled with having a proper drs. written script? Is that true? If so is there a time limit on a dated written script? Awaiting your answer and I certainly am glad to know about the ratio you gave me before I see my dr. again.
