Took 10mg OC three times a day for 10 years for stable psoriatic arthritis. Started OP and went thru complete drug withdrawal with SEVERE pain, nausea, headache, diarrhea and bed soaking sweats just so Purdue could keep their patent for another 15 years and f*** the rest of us!!!!
Fill out the fda medicine reporting form... https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/medwatch/medwatch-online.htm ... Do not worry if you don't have the answers to all of the questions, it will still allow you to submit it.

Also, go here and tell them you want to start a class action suit against Purdue http://www.hbsslaw.com/practice-areas/pharmaceutical-fraud

Been on opoid type meds fpr past 2 years I have cronic lower back pain from progressive disc degeneration. . My doc prescribed oxycontin 6 months ago 20mg 2/day with 3-4 oxy 5 imm rel for breakthrough pain. 6 weeks ago I got a refill and notied it was the new op formula. From the first dose I knew something was wrong. I still had very bad pain as if I took nothing at all. I made it through with my oxy ir. My doc raised my dose to 30mg 2/day then 2 weeks later 40mg 2/day. I am still in alot of discomfort but amd getting through with my breakthrough meds. I see my doc in two weeks. I am going to demand he take me off this ineffective JUNK! Thanks for the pain and suffering purdue!

I am a realistic person. Whoever on this message board really thinks that calling purdue and getting together a bunch of crackpot lawyers is going to get you anywhere is a sad oversight. Switch to a different medication or stop bitching. They're not going to change it for a bunch of chronic drug users, with legitimate pain or not. Period.

The coca-cola method works, you have to use regular coke, not diet. I've done this many times and it's the best way. {edited for safety} That's it, I feel it in like 10 minutes and it's great and that's off of 40mg and I have a big tolerance. Know ur limit, moderation is key. I do this for breakthrough pain for many injuries I got during a work accident involving a damn steel pipe. The new op's are s--t and don't do s*** for me when taken as directed. I've also heard that taking the coating off and leaving it under ur lip and sucking on it kinds works.

Switched from oxy 15 LR to Oxy op without warning. Long term ( lifetime) injury on patient who does not drink or use illegal drugs. New compound/ drug ineffective. Filing suite with Purdue on an idividual basis.

It did NO good at all to call all I was told is they are not aproved by the fda and will not be produced anylonger no matter what and could not suguest anything else that may work. I told my Dr. also and he does not know what to do.

AS I STATED, I HAVE CHRONIC PANCREASTITIS ALONG WITH OTHER STOMACH AND PROBLEMS AND THESE ARE DOING MORE HARM THAN GOOD, BUT WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSE TO DO. I DO NOT ABUSE ANYTHNG AND I WILL SAY IT AGAIN THIS IS NOT FAIR TO THE PEOPLE THAT DONOT ABUSE ANY KIND OF MEDICINE AT ALL !!! I WANT TO SUE THE CRAP OUT OF THEM FOR ALL THE PAIN AND EXTRA PAIN I NOW SUFFER FROM.

People can get as pissed as they want at Purdue. Do you really think they get a chit? They know exactly why their product made them so much money! Just like they know this will no longer be their cash cow. The call is over their heads. The FDA and govt in general, MADE them do it because it by far causes more problems than it helps! The gov might have opened Pandora's box of heroin with this decision because junkies are gonna get their fix somewhere. I am sure a new drug will come along eventually to supplant OC, but until then, patients and junkies alike must simply cope or use Coca Cola apparently ;)

Well I to am having the same issues as most on this forum with the vomiting, sever head aches, nausea all the time and I get very little relief from the new OP's. It is like taking 1 vicodine when I take 2 80mgs. I am also a CP suffer from a sever auto accident with neck and spinal problems. I have had two spine operations and I have been on Oxycontin 2x80mgs 2x's per day for 7-8 years now and never wanted to try them due to the bad name that they had. I finally gave in to my pain Doctor and tried them...I will honestly say that they truly did work wonders for the pain I am in. These OP DO NOT even come close to being as strong as the original formula and I dont care what anyone says...I know my body. I have been waking up in the middle of the night in pain and and withdraw like symptoms I never had prior to switching over to the OPs. I called my Dr on Friday to reschedule my 3 month appointment to next week. He is aware of the problems and has told me that several other OC patients are having the same problems as I myself am having. He knows my whole family and he knows me as a person as well and knows that I DO NOT abuse my prescription. My insurance pay $1800.00 a month for my script. How can they keep paying that kind money for me and they are NOT doing what they originally did for pain. My only option here is to try and find another drug that will compare to what the old formula did for the pain. I and not a smoker or a IV user or snorter; I am just a man that suffers from chronic pain. I wish they would go back to the old formula but then again I cant do anything but try different pain killers until I find another that works as well.. I wish the best to the rest of you out there. Thanks :)

Hello Margaret.. I to am having the same issues as everyone else on this forum including yourself...I have a Doctors appointment next Wed. and I am going to go back to the Opana ER 40mg 2 every 12 hours for a total of 4-40mgs per day. I was on these when they first came out but I personally found the Oxycontin 80s to work better for me. The opana does work well for pain but they made me very tired and felt a little out of it...However they did work great for the pain. I would take these feeling over the way the new Oxy OP's make me feel any day. It is a start and they may or may not be for you...I have to try something new because I just cant go on with the way I am feeling.. Good luck and all the best to you Margaret :)

1 week ago my wife was released from the hospital after 10 days in ICU and surgery to repair a lung bleeb this bleep was caused by her presistant coughing and vomiting after taking the OP type of medication. After the new prescription sher went to doctor with complaints or coughing and vomiting he said there was no relationship to the medciation and continued her treatment and week later she was admited to ER with colapsed lung and they needed to insert chest tube. There was no prior problems before the OP medication was used and now they ( doctors) do blame the problem she experenced.. however.. they say when ever you take a medication or have a procedure there are complications to sometimes be expected..I have a $103,000.00 Hospital bill and i haven't got the doctors bill yet...the lung specialists do relate the OP pill problems she had with her coughing and vomiting and said she shoulkd have stopped the medication, but she didn't know at the time that was the reason so how could she stop? She did go to doctors with her problem it wasn't until after she went into hospital that the relationship to the OP tablets was made. There is no suit here....no interest in getting tied up in court for the next 10 years and going broke so a lawyer can pay his mortgage while mine goes unpaid.

I read one man's response, he is suing on his own, but I THINK if we all get together and bring suite against the company we would stand a better chance. I may be wrong, but I am on board with ANYONE that may be able to fix this problem. what do you think? I am just guessing. I don't know which would work better. as I said the junkies are just going to find some thing else to abuse while the rest of us that take the med's the way we are suppose to are the one's suffering and bad.

The old Oc's are back they are the generic now, I live in Buffalo ny, and they are all over the place again. My father not even 2 weeks ago got his script and his incur only covers generic brand and he filled them and bam the old OC's back again. He ask the drugist about it, and i quess some other comp are making them generic now don't know the whole story, but all i know he gets them and i know. they are all over the street once again. Which is why this whole OP mess start because people that don't need them abuse them, or people that got them from there doc's than sold them, ruined it for the people who truly need them. Just make sure next time u get ur script to make sure u ask for the generic brand.

you are not alone ! I have called every one ! I think every one but the junkies should get a attorney and file suite over bad drug. I dont know if that would be a good idea, or do it one on one, this has effected me the same. I use to play with my grandchildren (for a little while) now ALL I do is sit in a chair and I have alot of chronic medical conditions. this is crazy. this all happened to keep people not to abuse them. ARE THEY NUT'S, THEY WILL JUST FIND SOME THING THAT IS PROUBLAY EVEN CHEAPER. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT I AM GOING TO DO EITHER.
