They can continue to fill prescriptions with the old product, until their supplies run out, then all pharmacies will have the new Oxycontin OP.
I am very sorry to read of what your friend is going through. She should report her problems to both Purdue Pharma and the FDA. The more problem reports, they more attention they will pay to them. She can use the following numbers:
